Building my community through social media

Over the years, some of you have asked if I'm on other social media platforms too (you know, because everyone else is!) but I haven't been too interested in sitting at my computer all day to maintain multiple social media sites - I'd rather be creating! After trying out a few other platforms (Pinterest, You Tube, Instagram) I'm breaking out of my shell and adding to what I"m going to call my "community".

My community is going to consist of: Blogger, Facebook, Pinterest and You Tube, in that order. Here are all my links so you can check out what I've been up to --

Blog: lavendersagedesigns.blogspot.com
Facebook: facebook.com/scrapbookyourmemories
Pinterest: pinterest.com/l8ybugs/lavendersage-designs
Youtube: youtube.com/lavendersagedesigns

Here's a brief description on my plans with each new outlet:

My blog is going to be the prime place to check out my artwork. Think of it like a gallery, a simple show-and-tell. I will still participate in blog hops and link parties throughout each month. Comments are always appreciated!

On Facebook, my posts will promote my business through sales, specials, discussions and even some giveaways. Not sure yet how often I will post but it will most likely be twice a week. This is a great way for you to ask questions or to reach out for information on Close to My Heart products, classes or anything else you want to talk about.

Pinterest is where I spend a lot of my time "researching" other people's artwork and sharing my own completed projects. You can follow my business board or all of my boards (to really see what I'm like outside of scrapbooking!!). Send me pins you think I'll like - I'm always up for inspiration!

I'm still trying to get the hang of You Tube but I hope to be posting more as time passes. There are a total of three videos there now - the last one is the best, imho! You can see my progression of learning the process. There's still some work to do (better lighting, a stable tripod for the camera, etc) but I do have some ideas on upcoming videos. Let me know what you'd like to see and I'll try it!

Go ahead and check out my other sites and let me know what you think! This is my community and communication is key - leave comments to let me know what you liked or didn't like (gracefully, please). As this community grows, it will evolve based on feedback from you. While I am doing all of this for myself and my own gratification, I want to include you too into my scrapbooking world. I hope to talk with you soon!

This will conclude my posts about Studio J - I hope you didn't mind all these layouts or the extra posts! This was a fun promotion to use (who doesn't like catching up on their scrapping in a few nights?!) and I got a lot of out of it. Here are the last layouts I made using Studio J.

Studio J layouts from the Fall

Last month CTMH had a great deal on Studio J layouts. Even though it was a tough month for me on many levels, it was something I didn't want to miss. I worked for three or four nights, a few hours each time, and got 23 layouts done. {Check out this post for a few of the many ways to use Studio J for your scrappin' needs}

Here are the layouts I did (using retired paper packs) from my fall activities. Enjoy!

April Joyful Stars Blog Hop: Studio J

Welcome back to another edition of the Joyful Stars Blog Hop. If you're coming here from Cindy's blog then you're on the right track. It's a circular hop so if you get lost you can always visit Joyce's blog for a complete list.

This last month has been an extremely hard month for me but Close to My Heart had a fabulous deal all month long on Studio J layouts that I didn't want to miss out on. If you haven't tried Studio J, then you owe it to yourself to a take a half hour to make a beautiful layout - with or without pictures. There is so much to do on Studio J and this month I sat down and tried a bunch of techniques I've heard about from other consultants. I'm going to share my efforts with you now.

This is beautiful paper but I just didn't love it in person. On the computer screen, I fell in love with it! I loved that I could change the embellishment and cardstock colors to whatever I wanted and boom! I loved it! See that word collage on the right? I made that! The Stickease says "Be You" then using the individual letters, I added "TIFUL" below to it make it a title. Sweet, huh?

Just a few of the options to Studio J to help you think outside the box:

1. Create beautiful, quick pages with predesigned layouts, complete with photos, journaling and embellishments:

 2. Create beautiful, quick layouts with predesigned layouts (waiting for your own photos and embellishments):

3. Print your photos!!! Seriously, this one hit me like bricks when I learned this was an option!
The best perk to being a consultant is getting to go to Convention each year. In 2013, CTMH had our annual convention in Disney World Florida! It. Was. Awesome! During one of our creative sessions they gave us an exclusive paper pack just for attending then showed us new layout designs to help us scrap our time at Disney. These photos are just a few of the highlights of my trip that I am printing using Studio J to fit onto the pages I've already made up. Quick and easy!

4. But wait! There's more!!!
I don't have examples of this to share with you, but want to tell you about them anyway. Picture My Life is a great way to quickly put a bunch of photos into a layout and now you can make you're own PML cards in Studio J. Want to use Arianna? Or  Lollydoodle? Now you can!! Simply choose the paper pack you want to use and the card sizes you want to use (3x4 or 4x6) and start designing. This is the project I'm currently working on now!

I will post more from my Studio J haul in other posts since they use retired paper packs. If you want to see them, make sure to follow my blog (click the link on the right sidebar) so you don't miss a post. Thank you!

Thanks for joining me as you travel this blog hop. Please take a moment and leave a comment as you travel. Now you're off to Lori's blog to see what she has to share. See you next month!!
