Easter Treat Bags, part 2

This is another treat bag I made up for the benefit sale this weekend though it's not really specific to Easter. I used the February 2011 Stamp of the Month, Thoughtful Tidings, for the bag header since it went so well with Hershey Hugs (yes, I have a serious thing for Hershey's chocolate!)

I used Gray Twine to embellish the header but I also used a small star stamped in Desert Sand ink on the Chocolate card stock to provide a little visual texture. This would make a great teacher's gift or a thank you gift for a friend - who doesn't like chocolate?

Easter Candy treat bags, part 1

On Monday, I told you I started a board on Pinterest of my artwork. I thought it would be nice to show you some of the stuff I made I found on Pinterest. One of them was Easter S'mores, aka Peeps S'mores. I'm not a fan of Peeps, but I love s'mores! This is a treat bag I made up for a benefit sale I was at last weekend. I'm also thinking this would be a cute idea for Easter gifts at my son's preschool (though they will only get enough to make one s'more - those kids are sweet enough!).

I used Lucy B&T paperA Typeface for the letters and a new stamp set, My Peeps,  to decorate the bag. Each bag holds one chocolate bar (the only kind of chocolate is Hershey's), two graham crackers and four Peeps. I hand colored the Easter eggs with colored pencils.

I'm on Pinterest!

If you haven't wasted hours of your time this week on Pinterest, you are missing out! Pinterest is an online cork board where you can pin pictures of things you see that you like while you surf the web. These pins are collected on your boards and then shared with your followers. It's social media for us creative types. There are so many beautiful pins already on Pinterest, I sometimes just browse the site and don't leave until my son is begging for my attention (oops!). So since I spend so much of my free time there, I thought I should pin some of my own artwork - and I did!

There is a link on the right side of the blog where you can follow me on Pinterest and start saving your favorites to your own boards. Of course, if you're a Pinterest veteran, you know you can always use the Pin It! button to save any of the artwork you see, but please, leave the link attached that comes back to my blog. I work hard on the stuff I share with you.

See you on Pinterest!

Benefit Auction today

Today and tomorrow I will be selling some of my homemade goodies for Teens Need Truth, a teen outreach program for a local community. Check out their website for all the information. There will multiple vendors there and proceeds from the sale will directly impact the program. I will have some of the projects I've been sharing with you recently so if you like what you see, stop by and support a great program.

Harper's Shadow Box

Since we are not sharing the name we have picked out for our little girl and I wanted to make a feminine version of the shadow box I made for Nate, I chose to make this shadow box for my niece. After more reflection, I should have made it for her mom (whose name means "butterfly") but I guess I can do another one to match.

I used Just Blooms Butterflies, and Silver Glitz to embellish the stained butterflies after I pressed them into pink inks.

I used Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge (non-CTMH) for the letters in Baby Pink and Cocoa card stock.

Shadow Box for Nate

One of the things I've been meaning to do for a long time (okay, 3 years 48 weeks and 5 days ago) is to make a shadow box of the outfit little man wore home from the hospital. I used the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to make the letters and Sparkles to embellish the top letters. The background is from Miracle, a retired paper pack.

In the picture, you can see how tiny he was compared to the outfit he wore. I will put in the pacifier and ID bracelet from his ankle at a later time.

Secret Sister Gift

This is the gift I made for my Secret Sister in my Mom's Group. She might figure this out if she knows me, but we'll have to wait and see!

 All wrapped up!
She will get 4 of these blank cards.
She will get 4 of these 3"x 3" gift cards.

Baby Cards

I guess it must be in the water! When I found out I was pregnant this time, half my friends also turned up pregnant! Now, we're all getting ready to welcome our little bundles so I am using my down time to get ready - I know I won't have time soon enough to work in my craft room. Here is the card I made - same design, different colors. Love it!

When Creativity Flows

Sometimes creativity just flows. When it does, it can be hard to keep up! Here are a few cards I made recently. First, you'll recognize this one from my last post:

I really liked the flourish (February 2011 Stamp of the Month) so I decided to see what else I could do. Here's what I came up with:

This is a very simple card with just chocolate ink to decorate the card. Simple and straight forward.

This is a fast card to welcome a little girl. The sentiment is from Card Word Puzzle and the little feet are from a retired set from many years ago.

Same stamp, different cards and still very fast and impressive. What's easier?
